Introducing @northeast.england

The North East of England is a very special place to us. It’s where we first met – at university in Durham. We fell in love with the heritage and beautiful countryside of County Durham and Northumberland (as well as each other!) but thought that there was a gap on Instagram for photographers to share their pictures of the stunning region. So, we set up @northeast.england, a community account which we still curate, despite us now living about as far away from the North East as is possible!

High Force from Middleton-in-Teesdale

The waterfalls at High Force mark a 21 metre drop in the course of the River Tees, in the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. This is a walk we made when we stayed in the small town of Middleton-in-Teesdale, 4 miles East of High Force. We went on the approximately 10-mile round walk in February. The Durham Dales looked spectacularly stark in the winter.
