The North East of England is a very special place to us. It’s where we first met – at university in Durham. We fell in love with the heritage and beautiful countryside of County Durham and Northumberland (as well as each other!) but thought that there was a gap on Instagram for photographers to share their pictures of the stunning region. So, we set up @northeast.england, a community account which we still curate, despite us now living about as far away from the North East as is possible!

This walk through the countryside around the village of Malham in North Yorkshire is a favourite spot for British walkers. It takes in some of the most famous geological formations in the Yorkshire Dales and some of the best views in the country.
